Boost Your Confidence With Botox®

Boost Your Confidence With Botox®

When your skin is flawless, the rest of the world can back off. The confidence of a face free of fine lines and wrinkles isn’t just the dreamiest way of aging with grace - it’s a possibility with Botox®. Botox injections are the most-used minimally invasive beauty procedure, with a slight downtick in use last year, possibly due to the pandemic.

Botox is a special formulation that attacks and neutralizes the source of wrinkles in your forehead and between your brows. Botox is powerful, and choosing one of our aesthetic professionals at Beauty Forever MedSpa is the best way to ensure that your Botox treatments go smoothly and effectively.

What exactly is Botox?

You may know about botulism - the food poisoning that you can experience from rusty or dented cans. The bacteria botulinum toxin type A is one of the most powerful pathogens that we know and can be very harmful if ingested. Botox is a special formulation that includes this powerful microbe to treat your wrinkles safely.

Botox works to smooth your wrinkles by gently paralyzing the muscles that cause them. Botox is used to smooth wrinkles primarily on the forehead and between the brows, but it can be safely used to treat fine lines and crow’s feet that appear around the eyes. By paralyzing your muscles, Botox stops new wrinkles from forming and prevents wrinkles from growing deeper.

Since its approval for market use by the FDA in 2002, Botox has been joined by a variety of similar products. Most of these other products, however, have different functions, and different features. For example, commonly prescribed fillers, like Juvederm and Kybella, are often used in conjunction with Botox to help your skin heal from signs of aging.

Not only does Botox work and play well with others, but you also have options for your treatment areas. Choosing additional aesthetic treatments to complement your Botox sessions may help you get even closer to the look you want, but be sure to keep your specialist abreast of what you want. While we cannot promise to give you specific treatments, we’re happy to work with you, if you’re a candidate.

What else can Botox do?

Despite its original purpose to prevent wrinkles, Botox has been proven effective in treating symptoms of several medical conditions:

Overactive bladder

If you have trouble holding in small amounts of urine, frequently need to use the restroom, and get up more than twice per night to use the bathroom, Botox might be able to help you. With the care and guidance of an experienced urologist, you can receive Botox injections for your overactive bladder. The effects will last for around six months but can be felt within a few days.

The American Migraine Foundation defines chronic migraines as migraines that occur at least 15 times per month. The more migraines you have, the more effective that Botox treatment will work for your frequent, debilitating headaches.

Upper and Lower limb spasticity

Botox’s paralyzing effect can dramatically reduce muscle stiffness resulting from upper or lower limb spasticity. People who’ve survived a stroke may be living with some after effects, and this is an FDA-approved treatment to mitigate the symptoms of this condition.

Hyperhidrosis (Underarm)

The International Hyperhidrosis Society states that Botox can reduce underarm sweat by up to 87%. Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes you to sweat excessively. This can happen on one, or several body parts, including hands and underarms. Results can last for over a year and you could see improvement in just a few days.
